This period might seem challenging for a fresher, but it’s also a golden opportunity to groom yourself and improve. While I see many posts on Reddit reflecting the helplessness of fresh engineering graduates, which is troubling, we need to find ways to overcome this feeling and move forward confidently. Life can be challenging, but it also offers us plenty of opportunities.
If you think deeply, you’ll realize that understanding the purpose of life is key. What matters to you? Is it the job or the money? You shouldn’t worry about finding a job if your answer is money. Instead, focus on what you can do to make money. The simplest way is to get a job, while entrepreneurship is the toughest and perhaps most rewarding path.
When life presents us with tough situations, we often choose the easiest way out. However, those who take the hardest path shape the future. They make their dreams a reality, and in doing so, they inspire others to work on those dreams, too.
Every individual has significant potential. One reason we fail to achieve our goals is our attitude. We should correct our attitude. We should focus on realizing our full potential.
In any market, a talented person will always find a way to get what they deserve. Even in today’s market, individuals like YOU — who possess talent should quickly secure a job.
Gone are the days when job hunting meant simply applying to vacancies. Today, it’s about showcasing your talent and finding the right fit. For instance, if you want a job as a front-end engineer, you should develop an application, host it, and share the link with hiring managers. Anyone looking for a skilled front-end engineer will be impressed by your work and more likely to hire you. Although this approach may take longer than the usual job application process, it’s a surefire path to success.
Various open-source projects need an extra pair of hands. Contributing to these projects allows you to hone your coding skills and learn the art of project management, which benefits both you and others.
At the beginning of your career, don’t focus solely on financial rewards—concentrate on building your skill set. It might seem unwise to work without compensation, but this is just the beginning. Be patient, learn, and code. Developing an app is a great start. This way, you’ll spend your time productively rather than feeling frustrated over not having a job.
Life gives us tough situations to teach us how to survive. It’s nature’s way of helping us adapt. Without facing such challenges, we wouldn’t learn how to handle more complex situations in the future. Consider this phase of your life as the start of your journey, and approach it confidently.
Starting anything is always challenging, but with experience, you’ll become a professional. Looking back, you’ll realize that worrying about finding a job wasn’t worth it.
Instead of being a job seeker, why not dream of becoming a job creator? Form a team and try to implement an idea as a first step. You can generate ideas by exploring the top 10 apps in the Android Play Store or iOS App Store. If you’re unsure, I suggest starting by emulating successful models.
You can do so much after graduation while waiting for a job. The frustration often comes from forcing ourselves to get what we want without seeing the bigger picture. A better opportunity might be waiting for YOU, one that’s even more fulfilling than the job you’re currently focused on. Be PATIENT.
This might sound philosophical, but after 20 years, I’ve realised the truth. Looking back, I wish I hadn’t rushed into a job. Use this golden period to your advantage, as you might not get this time again in your life.
Happiness is all that matters. I’d like YOU to focus on what makes you happy.
Lastly, all the very best in YOUR endeavours.
Peace.
